Air Conditioning

Marks Top List for Air Conditioning.

  1. Always ask what type of Freon the garage will use. If it isn’t R-134A, stay away.
  2. If you have an older car with R-12, have it converted right away.
  3. If a sealer is offered to, say NO!
  4. The best way to find a leak is with a dye inserted into the system.
  5. The type of equipment used to repair your Air Conditioning matters! A good machine always has a Vacuum pump on it, to ensure that all humidity is removed from the system.
  6. Did you know that it is normal to loose a small amount of Freon over the years? Why you might ask? Because an Air Conditioning system on a car has many moving parts to allow for bumps and car movement. All connected by rubber o-rings.
  7. There are sealers on the market to help small leaks. Never use them. They will eventually clog up your compressor and the money you might save will be lost and then some, to repair the damage caused by the sealers.
  8. Did you know that there are many blends of Freon on the market? They are not all safe! 412, 406 and Durakool contain hydrocarbons such as propane, which is unsafe for you.
